Book Review - Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
I have not done book review posting for some time now... Anyway, on the way back from New York, I bought a book to entertain me throughout my 15-hr flight from NY to Hong Kong. Frankly, I chose the book because of the nice picture of Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried **yes, yes... in this case, I judged the book based on its cover (guilty)** Anyway, a movie with the same title is out based on this novel. It is not a thick book so I thought that it will keep me company throughout my journey but I actually finished it in 4 hours. I was in tears as I reached the last few pages... I am not sure how is the movie plot but if they follow the novel 100% then it will be a good movie to watch. Ok, it is a chic flick movie though (so guys, you've been warned hehehe). Basically, the story is about John, a rebellious son, who doesn't seem to understand his father and then John grew up when he joined the Army. John met a girl when he came home for holiday and they made a promise. As any normal long distant relationships, they write and call each other until the Sept 11th incident which is followed by The Letter... I will not reveal too much as I want to watch the movie first and give the chance to those who would want to read the book before watching the movie. Let's just say, John's relationship with his father moved me and his love to the girl touched me (can somebody loves someone so much???). Ok, enough... Will provide more details after I watch the movie... hehehe. To those who enjoy sentimental chic flick books, add this one to your collection as it is worth it.
Ok, until my next posting, peace and have a good read to all of you...

I havent read Dear John as of yet, and thanks to your recommendation I will now put it on my to-get list! A book i'd highly recommend, would be "The Lucky One" also by Nicholas Sparks.
