A friend emailed me this the other day and I found that it is so hilarious to see what people post on their walls. But, I thought that the case may not be true - maybe, it is just a prank or joke that someone is trying to make about Facebook.
To my surprise, today, I received an FB notification that a friend of mine posted to her husband's wall a message to pick up something for their kid. Why do people don't understand that whatever that they post in FB is NOT PRIVATE?
I mean, there are a lot of cases where people got fired from their jobs just because they have posted a simple comment on FB. There are also a lot of people being sued over FB. Those who are not careful, please start to do so from now on...
For everybody's benefit, since the birth of Facebook on 4th Feb 2004, there have been a lot of controversies and lawsuits surrounding its existence. In fact, according to wikipedia in December 2008, the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory ruled that Facebook is a valid protocol to serve court notices to defendants. It is believed to be the world's first legal judgement that defines a summons posted on Facebook as legally binding. Then, in March 2009, the New Zealand High Court associate justice David Glendall allowed for the serving of legal papers on Craig Axe by the company Axe Market Garden via Facebook. Some may not know that Facebook is also blocked by countries like China, Iran and Syria due to its open nature.

At the end of the day, we will need to always be careful of what we post on the Net especially on one of the top social networking sites like Facebook. What we think might be private, may not be private afterall...
Hmmm... now, I am thinking of putting a disclaimer to my blog. What do you think? Should I?
Till my next post, peace to all the models and mortals out there!!!
