"Smart is the new Sexy"

To those who would want to have a good laugh, this show is the answer. It is hilarious and it could make me laugh anytime, anyday... The show is about 4 brainy friends befriended a pretty blonde aspiring actress in California. The way they try to converse with each other is so-so funny. Here are the main characters:

My favourite character is Sheldon (or his full name in the show is Dr. Sheldon Copper). He is a theoretical physicist and has a master's degree, two Ph.D.s and an IQ of 187. The funny thing about Sheldon is his lack of understanding on human interaction. He needed to train himself to understand whether a remark made is a sarcasm or not. He also has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) - a bit more than 'Detective Monk'. Now enough with Sheldon as the 4 characters in the show are similarly hilarious in their own ways.

Leonard (full name = Dr. Leonard Hofstadter) is an experimental physicist, received his Ph.D. when he was just 24 years old. He has an IQ of 173 (just slightly below Sheldon, and that's why Sheldon always thinks that he is the smartest among all of them) and has a crush on Penny (that's the blonde). Both he and Sheldon share an apartment, and they have sort of learnt to tolerate each other's habits.

Penny (she's the only character without her last name revealed in the show) is from Omaha, Nebraska, and is staying just across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon. She works in Cheesecake Factory while waiting to get an acting offer. Most of the time, she does not understand what the guys are talking about but because of her kindness (not to mention her attractiveness), the boys have accepted her as one of them.

Wolowitz (full name = Howard Wolowitz) is a Jewish engineer in Applied Physics Department of Caltech University. Although he thinks that he is the "Ladies' Man" and tends to come out with disgusting pickup lines in front of ladies, he is definitely hopeless in that department. Oh ya, he is still living with his mum (we can only hear her coarse vocal throughout the show)...

Koothrappali (full name = Dr. Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali) works as another genius astrophysicist and also is Howard's best friend. Koothrappali has a problem to talk to ladies when he's sober. But after a drink, his behaviour changes to outgoing and has no problem talking to ladies. Occasionally, he talks to his parents in India via webcam.

I've just finished watching the latest episode (Season 3 Episode 5) and I can't wait to watch the next one... Give it a try. Here are some pics that I found on them over The Net:
